We’re excited to share our Organic Quinoa Flakes – a healthy, gluten-free alternative to your morning oatmeal or as a baking substitute! Quinoa grains are squeezed to produce flakes, which resemble rolled oats. Quinoa flakes are flat, round, light beige in color, and neutral in taste, which makes them the perfect carrier for other flavors. They can be used in place of rolled oats to make "oatmeal” or as a substitute for oats in baked goods. Organic Quinoa Flakes add texture and a nutritional boost to help you feel your best! Choose from our 1 lb, 2.2 lb, or case to conveniently keep your cupboard stocked with Organic Quinoa Flakes!
HEALTH BENEFITS: Packed with punch!
An excellent way to begin the day, quinoa flakes are packed with nutrition! High in dietary fiber and iron, Organic Quinoa Flakes are also a complete protein - containing all 9 essential amino acids that are required by the body! Quinoa is also very low in fat, calories, and is cholesterol-free.
CULINARY TWIST: Good morning!
From banana bread to granola mixes, quinoa flakes are easy and healthy to add to baked goods. One of our favorite ways to enjoy this organic and gluten-free product is to start our mornings with it! Quinoa flakes cook quicker than rolled oats, making them the perfect breakfast on those busy mornings. We place 2/3 cup of water, 1/3 of almond milk (feel free to use regular, soy, or rice milk as well), and 1/3 of quinoa flakes in a pot. Add a sprinkling of cinnamon, nutmeg, or cloves for added flavor. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 2-3 minutes until thick, and serve! Top with honey, chopped nuts, and fruit for a complete breakfast that takes minutes to prepare and will keep you satisfied!
ABOUT QUINOA: Did you know?
Though we treat quinoa like a grain, it is actually a plant – and a wild-looking plant at that (see the picture below)! Quinoa are the seeds off the plant, which are botanically relative to spinach, beets, and chard.
HOW TO STORE YOUR ORGANIC QUINOA FLAKES: Safe and sound!
