CULINARY TWIST: Good morning!

From banana bread to granola mixes, quinoa flakes are easy and healthy to add to baked goods. One of our favorite ways to enjoy this organic and gluten-free product is to start our mornings with it! Quinoa flakes cook quicker than rolled oats, making them the perfect breakfast on those busy mornings. We place 2/3 cup of water, 1/3 of almond milk (feel free to use regular, soy, or rice milk as well), and 1/3 of quinoa flakes in a pot. Add a sprinkling of cinnamon, nutmeg, or cloves for added flavor. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 2-3 minutes until thick, and serve! Top with honey, chopped nuts, and fruit for a complete breakfast that takes minutes to prepare and will keep you satisfied!

ABOUT QUINOA: Did you know?

Though we treat quinoa like a grain, it is actually a plant – and a wild-looking plant at that (see the picture below)! Quinoa are the seeds off the plant, which are botanically relative to spinach, beets, and chard.
