HOW TO USE COCONUT OIL: Cooking vs. Baking
Coconut oil is solid at room temperature and has a very high smoke point of 171°C degrees which makes it ideal for any type of cooking. It can be used as a one-to-one replacement for butter or other oils. For baking, we recommend using coconut oil in its solid state, just as you would for butter or shortening or you can use it at room temperature with other ingredients to avoid clumps. Its melting point is 24°C degrees, which means it can be melted safely using a microwave or over a stovetop
Forget oatmeal, try drinking your oats instead! 1/2 banana 1/4 cup old-fashioned rolled oats 1/3 cup Greek yogurt 2 tablespoons coconut oil 1 tablespoon honey 1/3 cup freshly squeezed orange juice 1/2 cup ice.
Directions: In a blender, combine banana, oats, yogurt, coconut oil, honey, orange juice, and ice. Puree until smooth. Transfer to a tall glass and drink immediately.
HOW TO STORE COCONUT OIL: Preserve the freshness!
Store Yupik's coconut butter in a clean, cool and dry place under normal room temperature of 28°C-32°C. Coconut oil will harden and become more difficult to use if it is stored in the refrigerator.
